Pre-op fun...

I had a pre-op appointment with my EP today...and had the following conversation:
EP: "So, how is your exercise program going?"
Me (more than mildly exasperated): "Um, well, since the last time I was here you said that I was banned from the gym and from exercising at any level of intensity..."
EP: "Just checking...and you're still banned."

And then there's my favorite nurse who always checks my height. Seriously, I'm 30, I'm pretty sure that I'm not getting any taller...I'm 5'8" and she ALWAYS says "hmmm...5'7 3/4" Seriously? I thought we stopped measuring in quarter inches at around 10 years of age...

AND after eating 20 lbs of Christmas Cookies over the past 2 weeks I've only gained 6 ounces...so, in celebration, I plan on eating another 20 lbs of cookies prior to surgery...none after midnight or anything...but BRING IT ON!!!!...In fact, I'm going to go and eat one (dozen) right now :-)

Sounds like your EP has quite the sense of humor!

I'm guessing you're going in for another attempt at an ablation?

Best of luck,

You'll fit in here quite nicely with that sense of humor.
Just remember to carry that same outlook on "game" day, it'll go SO much smoother for you and everyone else. All of my pacer implants, and EP studies have usually been more like parties than procedures. I always try to have fun and make light of the situation. You outlook and attitude is the only thing that YOU can control. Everything's gonna happen anyways, so it's good to be able to laugh about it.

I wish my nurse was more like your nurse. I always say that I'm 5' 3 1/2 inch (just trying to gain any more height that I possibly can). She always corrects me, "um, you're 5'3"." For some reason, that 1/2 inch makes me feel taller. LOL.

We're around the same age. I'm 34. Keep on the sunny side, and don't hesitate to ask your health care providers any questions. As always feel free to ask anything here on the board as well. We've all been through it. We're not medical professionals, but we do have the experience...

Welcome,
Angelie
