Should I feel a "thump, bump or any type of difference or movement from my 2 wires/dual PM? I have only had my Boston Scientific PM/ablation about a week, and I do not feel my PM do anything (very silent). Makes me even wonder if it is working. People have asked if I "feel" anything, and I can not tell anything is moving/working ~ ~ my 1 week ck-up was ok I guess, they said to come back in 3 months. They just put a "wand" over the PM and read their computer. I do not feel "bumps/thumps/etc." I thought I should feel the PM do something ~ I guess not feeling anything means it is "working", I hope? The "energizer bunny" I am not yet. I forget I have the new PM until I "reach" a lil' too far with an arm, and I feel a tug, from the "pocket"; stitch maybe? The stitches are suppose to self dissolve. The PM lady @ my Dr. office said my only restrictions would be to not lift heavy items nor raise my left arm over my head for about 8 weeks.. I still can't help but to be very cautious laying on my left side at night; seems like my weight would put pressure on the wires/PM? The biggest advice I can have or give to new pre-PM people: The PM implant is not near as bad as a person can hear/read AND have the implant Dr. give you a prescription for "pain meds" before you leave the hospital. The first day and night after PM implant, the pain meds were a must for the "pocket" area discomfort. Doing good in TEXAS ~ GO UT LONGHORNS ~

I'm glad to hear you have had a good result with your procedure.
If the settings are right, the PM. should do it's job without you knowing about it.
Do remember you have had a surgical operation. You will need to give your body time to repair itself.
The best advice I was given by the cardiologist was "Just take it easy, and heed your body".
It worked for me, and I wish you all the best for your recovery.

I need to add, I just noticed last nite when I was changing a pillow case to a clean one (placing pillow in case opening & gently bouncing pillow down a few times into case), I had 2 small hiccups. I think, maybe, when I do a move I do not normally do, a hiccip or 2 happens? Does that put me back in a rythym? This may have nothing to do with my PM, just noticed this last nite and once the other day when I first woke up. I might have hiccuped "before" PM and never noticed. I do know in the Heart Hospital the nurses said to watch for excessive hiccups, whatever that meant. Everybody probably said a whole lot about a lot of things ~ I just wanted to get/be in my home @ that point to relax.
Has this happened to you? ( :

I remember

When I got my new one put in. It was a lot different from the previous ones. The Dr moved my PM from lower right abdomen (stomach area) to my left shoulder area. So I had two incisions to worry about this last time. I couldn't lift for two months and I did feel it pull a few times and it felt strange to me. Now four years later I am OK with everythings. Your symptoms will go away after awhile when your body gets use to the PM.

You know you're wired when...

You have rhythm.
