Who Has Participated in a Clinical Trial?

I've been searching on the ClinicalTrials.gov website for months looking for trials in which the benefit for me would be a free pacemaker. Since I don't have health insurance, I figure that would be a way to get the pacemaker I need.

Has anyone (anywhere) participated in a clinical trial for pacemakers? I have seen them posted, but I found them once they were no longer accepting new people. This site I mentioned has 3 trials all for pacemakers, one is located about 30 minutes from my North Carolina home and I will check to see just how I can get included in them. Please send me private messages or post your reply here.

I'd travel a few states away just to be able to get medical care. Now, I know that everyone who post on this site does not (or did not) have health insurance when they got their pacemakers. Question for all without health insurance: So how exactly did you get your pacemaker paid for without having health insurance? Is there some secret I don't know about? Are there programs out there to help with the expense or did you click your heels 3 times while saying some special phrase! (smile)

I am working a temporary job while I continue to job hunt for a job with benefits, but I desperately need to get a pacemaker. My bpms are in the upper 40s during the day and I'm living on energy drinks just to be able to function. Feel free to email me privately if you don't want the world to know, but I need a little help from some friends here. There seem to be a couple of us who are in the same boat here so the information would be useful.

TaceyE ------ please email me. I'd love to talk to you!
