Heavy heartbeats

Is anyone familiar with periodic heavy, thudding heart beats with the pacemaker? It is really disturbing to me. It happens frequently; when I am active and when I am idle. I don't like going back to the doctor so I thought I would start here.

Thump, Thump, Thump

I have the same problem. It got so bad, it would wake me up at night.

I went to my doctor (GP), and he tweaked my heart meds. This helped a lot!! I still get the heavy thumping, but not nearly as often.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I should check it out, but I'm not on any meds.

Level Set

Hi Poosby - Heavy beats may be easily corrected with voltage change. No drugs needed, but you would have to go to the doctor for the tune-up. Best of Luck.

Hello,

It is very simple they would just re porgramme and set to a lower voltage nothign to worry , just go and see the doctor. I had after my surgery and before go discharged they re programmed it , now Iam ok.

Heavy Heartbeats...

by Pookie - 2009-11-30 08:11:28

Hi.

I experienced what I described as thumping & pounding heart beats and my cardiologist said it was Ectopic Atrial Beats...then I pushed him for a Loop Recorder (sometimes called an Event Recorder) and it is now showing that I may have Junctional Rhythm...

my suggestion....go ask your doctor for a more specific answer.
