Finally I find others!

Hi everyone in the in the world seemed to know somebody with a pm apart from me! It's been a lonely year.
Had mine fitted nearly a year ago and I am pleased to say it seems to be in control. I just wondered my pm had to be resited a few weeks ago because, it was so painful and started to try and come out of my skin. Has anybody else had this? I am worried as I ride horses alot and everybody seems to blame it on this! It still feels like somebody has there foot on my shoulder but, hey I am here and ready to live again so thats got to be a good thing. Lovely to meet you all. Katie

You are in for a treat in this club. Welcome! Tell me about the turbo? How are you adjusting to the Pacer? I'm a 7+ weeker.

pacer and riding

Hi there!

Welcome to the club!

About horseback riding: when did you get back to riding after the pacer was put in? I could imagine that if you didn't give it a proper time to heal, it might really been a cause for the pacer coming out. However, there are lots of other patients who have had this problem, and I'm sure most of them don't do horseback riding. Could also be that the pacer unit wasn't "buried" deep enough under the skin. And sometimes it just happens without any obvious reason.

I used to ride horses but since having the pacer I can no longer do that because of the rate response. The motion sensor doesn't like the sensation it gets from trotting or galopping. It responds by increasing the rate. That also happens when I drive over bumpy roads.

Best wishes
Inga

welcome to our litlle club support group. Trust me this site is fantastic. I doubt that riding horses made the pm do this, I dont ride and mine can planly be seen, Im no expert but just think that how deep they implant it has alot to do with it, I can feel what feels like bolts at the top so cool, lol, my wife thinks Im sick. Talk to your doctor about it to set your mind at ease. Dont be afraid to ask anything in here, use it to vent, and meet alot of new friends. Welcome Welcome everyone is here to help each other.
