Palpitations and Skips

I am noticing palpitations and/or skips everyday now. Would you say that everyday is normal? Or am I still hyper-sensitive and only noticing because I am paying attention?

Perhaps something similar

I posted a question yesterday, trying to ask the same thing.

I seem to have some palpitations that I am not aware or (A fib?) but some that I am very aware of - like horse hooves in the middle of my chest - so severe that it makes me stop what I am doing, almost taking away my breath.

I am about 5 weeks out with my PM. The cardilogist made an adjustment and said these sensations shoould go away but they have not.

They tend to occur several times a day, usually when I start moving about but not always. They last a few seconds to several minutes.

Is this anything like what you are talking about? I hope you get some good suggestions and comments.

Thumps

It doesn't sound the same. I am not feeling pounding...more like a slight studder in my heartbeat or a skip. My pm hasn't fired yet since I've had it so I don't think I m having A fib either. It's really annoying actually to feel it "trip up" so to say...makes me nervous.

But then again, everyone here told me that newbies are very aware of their heartbeats and breathing after the implant.....might be nerves, might be trust...not sure.

Mine occur several times a day as well....but mostly I notice them when I am sitting still.

If you get any good insights-please let me know.
Best of luck-

I've had Some

I have had my PM for 5 weeks now. Everything has been going great but after 3 weeks I started feeling the irregular heart beats you seem to talk of. They don't cause any pain but a little anoying. I went in to get checked out and at the time nothing was happening. The cardiogist said nothing like PVC's was being recorded on the PM. He made some small adjustment and raised my upper limit and they miraculously went away and then today I'm having them. He said if I started having them again to come in and they would put a halter monitor on me. He didn't seem that concerned.

what does "raise your upper limit mean"?

they told me i too was still feel some and they didn't see any thing recorded when i went and had it interrogated...so its' very confusing.

they didn't seem worried about it either!

Upper Limit

by Jmiller - 2009-09-27 10:09:33

I found out when I exceeded my upper limit (factory set at 140) my heart rate would get wacky. They said it will go into 2:1 block mode and drop it to 70. They raised it to 160 and made so 2:1 block ode would not happen till 190. Now I can bike and play hockey (in one more month) without problems.
