PAC's PVC's and pacing

I was wearing a 24 halter last week and got the results today. It seems that I my heart races at 7:30 am and about 10:30 am. Both of which I can easily explain..morning rush to get out of the house and mid morning rush to get to a different class. Finally an answer!! LOL
The lady told me my heart rate was going down after that on it's own and so that was good too.
One thing she did notice that left me a little confused was when I pace it seems I am pacing at night. Right after I pace I get a PAC or a PVC. She said it could be a rebound from the pacing...like my own rhytem and the PM were competing. Does that sound right? I don't get it.
And secondly I still feel "the thumps" during the day too. The ones they said were PAC's or PVC's. Could it be I am pacing while awake too and am feeling myself pace? I know I asked about my settings the last time I was there, but they didn't want to turn them down until I was 6 months post op.

I know everyone feels things differently...some not at all. I am not stressing over it (for once LOL)....just curious.
THANKS,
W

Any ideas?

Competing pacing

A common cause for this is having the Rate Response unnecessarily turned on. Any time the pacer doesn't think your heart is beating fast enough it adds beats.

What is the function of a rate response? Do I need it turned on?

Rate Response

Got your shout..good thinkin! I may be a bit slow in responding. I'm on the road in an RV park where the internet is SLOOOOW.

Rate Response is a part of the pacer that senses your bodies movements and uses it to come up with an appropriate heart rate. It is only need if your natural pacemaker isn't doing the job. One way to tell if it is turned on is to wiggle the pacemaker rapidly (only possible if it is near the surface). If RR is turned on this will cause your HR to go up rapidly. I could raise mine from a resting 70 to 120 in just seconds. If you can't do that try doing some sort of movement that wouldn't normally cause your HR to go up.

Whether you need it or not depends on what your heart conduction problem is. With any of the simple block there is no need for it.

maybe I should ask for a video instead!!! I had to laugh sitting here thinking about someone trying to do . Then I thought ,.... dang wish they wouldnt have turned mine off or I could have tried it. I can hear it now..... husband walks into the room.."what you doing" and I reply "just shaking the shit out of my pacemaker" :)

Too bad I can't "wiggle" my PM. But back to the thumps..I too feel thumps throughout the day. My EP, cardiologist, and PM tech all said that some people are very "sensitive" to these thumps. As for the PVCs the majority of the time they are harmless, I just have to lay off the coffee. I have accepted that I'm going to feel some things regarding my heart and the less I think about my heart the less I feel. Since you are not "stressing" it seems that you are feeling better too.
