Medical ID bracelts

How many of you wear one and what does it say? I have one with my name, my blood type and the work "pacemaker" on it but I am wondering if I should include the model and other info?

Curious what you guys have on yours.

THANKS

Mine is pink with pink beads from Medic Alert and it just says Pacemaker. It has their phone number and my i.d. number on it. Medic Alert keeps all of your pertinent info in their files and you can access it online to make changes.

I have a pretty bracelet from Lauren's too...
they have all kinds and they are all very attractive
mine has my name, what kind my PM is,my Dr's phone number,my home phone number and the last line says
"SEE WALLET CARD"
and I wear it all the time when I/we go out
plus I have my card in my wallet and my hubby as a card too.
I would suggest for everyone to wear one
my friends all do.. for whatever is wrong with them
the info is right there on their bracelet.
have a good day

Dog Tag

by timberhitch - 2010-02-18 02:02:39

I have a dog tag from Stickys and they did an excellent job on it. I had it black lasered with my name, pacemaker implant, allergy, two - in case of emergency (ICE) telephone numbers, and my doctors telephone number. On some sites there are suggestions of what to put on. The cost was around $40 with a heavier chain due to the type of work I do. My only comment about wearing it is that it does have a tendency to ride up on my neck due to the heavier weight but for me it is no big deal.

ebay

there's loads of sites on ebay where you can buy the little bracelets that you can complete a paper with info and its rolled up inside, I got mine for about £12 and have worn it every day for 16 months. I checked it recently just to make sure no water had got in it, and it was fine. I have one for home and one for holidays and I put the name of my hotel and insurance co on it as well.

I put NO MRI in big letters

My medic alert

by janetinak - 2010-02-18 05:02:25

has "pacemaker, coumadin, & cataract surgery or something like that. Think its necessary as if out like a light (hah) least EMS will know what they are dealing with. Also got a window sticker for the car that alerts 1st responders that a medic alert wearer is in the car.

As Cat says above the # is on there with my Id # so can call in & get info, including meds, which I can update easily myself over the phone or on the computer.

This has been discussed in past & might want to use the "search" button on the top right of this page.

Hey Pacer Chicks!

Just an hour ago I received my Lauren's Hope medic alert bracelet - which is lovely!!!!

Only problem was...... I got 'stung' for customs charge! It came from US and I am in UK - the bracelet cost $90 ish! and I paid postage plus a custom charge of $25!!!! eeeeek!

Anyway I am glad I have it! and it is gorgeous!

I think most people should get one!

Take care, Love & Hugs, Loopy Lou xxx

My americanmedical-id.com bracelet

by walkerd - 2010-02-18 07:02:00

says on the front: my full name in emergency contact my wife with her phone number
on the back: see wallet card, pacemaker/defibulator,heart patient, and no MRI

And yes I do think it is a good idea that we wear one, there are all kinds out there on the market and prices to what ever your wallet or purse can afford.

ID bracelet

I wear one and it has the name of the pacer, model # and serial #. did not put my name or phone number on it, I figure if someone has to look at it, my purse should not be to far away from me to people to check all the other items they need. But considering a new one and I think I will include more info.

MedicAlert Bracelets

by ChicagoKim - 2010-02-22 12:02:50

I got the pink beaded bracelet with pink tag from Medic Alert. HOWEVER.... I had them engrave a bunch of stuff because I don't plan on keeping up the membership and I want all pertinent data on there.

Also, I am modifying it to have the tag completely removable (only one side has a clasp when you get it) so I can put it on other bracelets I ordered from LaurensHope (BEAUTIFUL bracelets!). I think the Medic Alert tag is much prettier and much better quality than the LaurensHope tags though.

Mine says:
PACEMAKER
(MY NAME)
PLEASE CONTACT
(MY HUSBAND'S NAME)
(HIS CELL PHONE NUMBER)

You know you're wired when...

Your kids call you Cyborg.
