Neurologist and heart health

Has anyone here discovered a connection between our nervous systems and our heart issues? The more I research the more they seem very connected.

What got me thinking about this was my newest diagnosis of spouts of inappropriate tachycardia. It doesn't happen all the time. Just pretty much when I m upright!. For example, if I am on the couch...I'm fine. RHR is well within normal range. But if I get up and go to the bathroom for example-my RHT will hit the 100's or 140's at school walking down the hallways. Its not accompanied by any pain or tightness in my chest....just the pounding beats.

What kind of doctor would you go to see to help find the connection if any? A neurologist???

Thanks,
W

I made an appointment. I think something is going on that makes it all connect. And I would rather understand and see the connection than to just start popping pills ya know!

I did visit dinet.org. That was one of the sites that intrigued me.

Thanks for the tips!
:-)

Of course!

Of course when I get up off the couch my RHR would go up. THAT would make sense. But when I am "on the go" my heart rate can hit the range of 140's where others don't go up THAT much. And on the go for me is simply walking school hallways or doing things around the house. That HR is within a treadmill range...not walking to get a drink of water!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have both an EP and a Cardiologist. Neither of which seem interested in investigating other possibilities.

But to those who are interested in responding with valuable advise, I would appreciate your input!

Thank you

Neurologist and Health

Oh yes big one - I live with vaso-vagal (sometimes called NCS) used to be treated by neurologist but now by cardiologist.
Head and heart connected one tells the other what to do - if heart doesnt oblige - we get a pacemaker. Now I dont 'blackout' - I 'brownout' instead. Can live with this

POTS

Maybe while your researching IST you might want to check out POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). I have done extensive research on both of these disorders and there is a lot of overlap between the symptoms. POTS is often associated with orthostatic hypotension although not always. You might want to look into it.

Dr Grubb!

Dr. Grubb in toledo OH is the world specialist on autonomic disorders or disorders that deal with both the heart and the brain and regulation of blood pressure. I see him for NCS but I know he treats POTS as well. you can look up some of his information on line.

You know you're wired when...

You make store alarms beep.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
