THE BATTERY SHOULD LAST ABOUT 5 YEARS UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF DEFRIBLLATOR JUMPS

MINE LASTED 3 YEARS AND THEN I HAD IT REPLACED, BECAUSE THE DEFRIBLLATOR USED UP MY BATTERY.

depends

I don't know model numbers, but battery life is an estimate. Pm's will last in general 7-10 yrs, ICD's are good for 3-6. How long it lasts depends on your usage, your settings, your safety margins, and how many of the extra bells and whistles you use. Each time you get it checked, they can tell you approximate life left, it's part of their report.

Check up

The technician should be able to tell you at the check up. I have a 5386 which was implanted in Feb 06, at my recent check up I asked and they said about 3.5 / 4 years left on the battery.

5826 SJM = Zephyr XL DR

Zephyr XL DR had an XL battery. It also has features to save batterypower such as AcapConfirm and Autocapture. As TraceyE said: ask your technician. It is the first thing to appear on the screen at interrogation. But keep in mind this is only ESTIMATED longevity.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
