Headache??

I had a Medtronics Advanta ADDR01 implanted on 10/1/2009 and have had a constaint low grade headache ever since.

My first PM was implanted in 1996 and removed in 2006 due to endocarditus. During this ten years I had no head aches.

From 2006 until 2009 I had no PM at all.

Now I have a constant headache. Is this normal? and will it be temporary?

I would like to hear others experience with headaches.

Wondering if the improved circulation is making it easier to feel the effects of mild dehydration. I could be way off base, just tossing it out there! Half the time when I get a headache, a few glasses of water make it go away. Or maybe I'm just weird :o)

Headache

One very common cause of headache (as well as sore shoulder, and misc other pains) is the way your body was treated during the surgery. Your head and neck could have been left in a position that put pressure on the spinal columns joint with the skull. This is a by massage therapists.

I was totally awake during my implant and gave them instructions about positioning a pillow under my neck and head. I also asked them to let me move my head at some point in the surgery to keep from getting sore. I also had someone on the surgical team try to use my chest as an elbow rest. In each case I was offered something to help me relax. I hate to think what I would have felt like if I had be drugged up and they could just attend to their convenience.

Constant Headaches

I keep mine under control by eating more frequently (and eating less each time) as well as making sure I have had enough fluids. When I goof off then I get headaches.

I was experiencing a really bad headache for a few days. I went in to see my doc about something else and he pointed out to me that my blood pressure was really high! He adjusted my medication and within hours my herdache was gone. Haven't had one since.
Perhaps it isn't the pacemaker... it could be another issue entirely.
I hope by now you have had it checked out and if you haven't I would like to encourage you to do so.
