Breathless!!

Hello everyone, just go a question if anyone can help, I get breathless out of the blue, there is no patten with it, i can be on my computer at work or relaxing at home.

I never had this before my PM, Dr thinks it's anxiety and PM nurse said it's nothing to do with my PM.

I have a dual lead Medtronic, it was fitted April'09 for Sick Sinus Syndrome, it has only worked 0.1% and doesn't kick in in the day, only when my heart drops low occasionly at night.

Should i be worried? i'm a natural born worrier, Cardiologist won't see me until Feb'10 as he said my last 25hr ECG done in August was fine.

I get alot of Palpitations / Extra's or missed beats (not sure what they are) PM nurse thinks there Ectopics.

Do you know if your rate response is on or off? If off it might be worth trying it on. Also, what are your limits? If top limit is too low that can sometimes make you breathless. Your technician rather than your cardiologist is more likely to be able to answer these questions.

Well all i know is my bottom limit is 50bpm at night and 55bpn in the day.

I don't know what my top limit is or is rate response is on or off?

The only thing that comes to mind is the PM tech saying something about turning something off, but that was on one of my first checkups.

I feel im being a pain having to ring the clinic again, but need to get it set up right.

Sounds like what I had as well. Although I had CHB. But it took quite a while to get the settings right. If it persists I suggest you be a "pain" until it gets straightened out. They told me anxiety and to "deal with it". Sorry - that did not cut it for me. Once they referred me to an EP and he started "tweeking" the settings things got better and better for me. Persevere!!! I was in the office every week and wouldn't take "no" for an answer :-)

hey dat happen me a lot and im only 22 and have it in a year .i had to get the pacemaker tweaked wit a bit about 4 mths ago and ever since im grand.. i was gettin it hard to breath and doin nornally stuff.. so they tweaked wit it a wee bit.. grand now
