Do good to be true!!!!

Hi all,

Following my post the otherday about taking Magnesium & Potassium to help with PVC's

I saw my GP on monday and asked his opinion on taking these suppliments, he said he had not heard anything about it, but he said it wouldn't hurt me to try.

So i have been taking 320mg of Magnesium Oxide since and my PVC's have dropped by more than half.

Is this to good to be true???? Would i get results this quick, Don't get me wrong i still feel them but not half as much or as strong

Long may it last

Hayley

That's great

I'm glad you took our advice and asked your doctor first but I'm "gladder" to know the Mag has helped you. I have to take an outrageously high dose of digoxin every day (thankfully still have my liver!) but still need a little magnesium at bedtime for those times it feels like I've swallowed a live fish. Doctors information

Keep in mind that doctors have to rely on information from pharma salesmen, medical publications, etc. Their view of the patient world comes from statistics. Unless a reasonable number of patients appear in the population with a magnesium deficiency (for example) they don't get info that it can be a problem.

It's different with an individual. We can take the time to search out information from isolated cases and try it ourselves. As long as it isn't toxic we can try something and if it works, we just may be 1 in 100,000 where it does.

Magnesium

When I have a physical I have to specifically ask to have a magnesium test. I had discovered that a deficency caused by eating gluten foods and having diarrhea contributed to my a-fibs. I have since read that magnesium glycinate absorbs better than magnesium oxide. Good luck.

Doctors practice medicine

So I searched this site for Magnesium and got this exchange and wanted to add:

I take Magnesium Citrate, "Highly Absorbable" on the label from the Solgar company I bought at the local Henry's Market. I take 400mg because my blood test done by my cardiodoc showed I needed that much. Some people take more. It works to calm the heartbeat.

Oh, yes....doctors practice medicine. Someday they may get beyond practicing and actually know something. So we do our own testing and let them know what works. Ever get the feeling you are a guinea pig??? I do.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
