Gargoyle or Frank is this not grounds for an early release. Parole was January.. Is there early parole in a minimum security?

Medical questions

Sue, I'm a hospital cardiac nurse and don't know anything about prison health care. How long has your husband been incarcerated? Just a guess on my part but the jaundice might be connected to the morphine withdrawal. Morphine withdrawal could also cause heart attack but if he's been locked up more than a few days he's probably already been through withdrawal. Not a major concern at this point. You said he had a CT scan in prison. I don't know what they were looking for but that is evidence that his medical needs are NOT just being ignored. 800 mg of morphine every day is an exorbitant amount of morphine and I seriously doubt that any correctional facility would even have access to that amount of the drug. As a nurse I would be very hesitant to administer that much morphine to any patient without close supervision in a medical unit. Your husband does have lots of medical issues both past and present but, and I'm trying to put this delicately because I'm not a hard-hearted person, if he gets jaundiced enough they will pay attention.

for sure

a canadian prison

by jessie - 2009-11-02 08:11:59

right now you have a lot of instability in the government here in canada. my advice would be to take this to an mpp probably jack layton of the ndp as they are the most interested in social issues. i am sure his member of parliament in your area would not mind checking to see iif his medical care in prison is adequate. i believe it would be. there is a registered nurse available 24/7 and anyone sick is referred to a doctor. if he has physchiatric issues you certainly need to bring them up to date on these issues. if you don't speak up noone will care. jessie
