Nuts! am I?

Well, I'm 7 weeks into this new pacemaker. Came down with sick sinus syndrom. Went through the operation and time of resting and letting things heal up real well. Bad case of hair-growing-back ITCH. But that's about it. The cardiologist gave me a cardionet to wear at work to keep track of how I'm doing around machinery and working heavily. So far no glitches. They read my pacemaker a week ago and it's doing very well.
But I went for an ultrasound of my carroded artery and my aeorta because of family history of anurisms. After that I felt Very lightheaded and like I was very out of energy. I almost went back to the hospitol. But being a guy I toughed it out. The next day I was OK. But the day after I was feeling really bad again. but it got alittle better as I worked through the day. The next day I was better and since then I have had mild times of mild lightheadedness and tired. I have sent in my cardionet readings every day and they dont seem to tell me I'm having a problem at all. I also monitor my bloodpressure and heartrate with my monitor. All good. All the stuff reads I am OK. Meybe I am just getting old and scarey. But I don't like the feelings. Any Ideas out there? No flu symptoms. Meybe working too hard? 10 hour days physical work, Normal for me for 40 years. This getting old crap sucks. Roch

Carotid blockages

Dear Roadbiker, the carotid arteries branch off the aorta and carry blood to your brain. Your light headedness could mean an impending stroke. Mini strokes called TIA's are a warning something disastrous is about to happen, but you can have a stroke from a blocked carotid without ever having a trans ischemic attack (TIA). I hope you're on a statin to control further plaque buildup and an aspirin daily. Lenora

Have it checked!!!

I get like that from time to time and I'm a month with my PM for SSS. I find it happens when I have a rise in HR/BP, but don't be a tough guy!

Everyone in my family had stroke and/or anyurisms (sp?) My brother at 48! He felt just as you did... of course it was a weekend and I had to argue with him for 2 days to see a doctor. Finally on Monday, he went to his GP who put him in the hospital ASAP. He had a stroke and a 98% blockage in the corotid!!! Luckily, he suffered little or no permanant damage from being a tough guy! He does still have problems with memory sometimes, but nothing major. He was very lucky!

With that being said, I can relate to toughing it out. I've found we feel all these new feelings, and no one told us about them, so we have no clue if it's normal or not! It's driving me nuts! The doctors get annoyed because of the constant bothers so you just try to cope, but always wonder if you should be worried.

Go with your gut!

You know you're wired when...

You have a shocking personality.
