Endless Pain response-THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR CONCERN! WOW!

Hello,

Recently I posted about my endless pain with my pacemaker and my chest.

Queen beez--thank you, thank you, thank you for your concern! Thank you also to everyone else for your concern as well, especially Cathy. I have not gone to the ER, but just yesterday my internist at the large medical center I go to for my pacer did a test for d-dimer--which is a test to rule out blood clots.

About an hour after my blood was drawn, my doctor called me very concerned. D-dimers are not usually in the blood, but can increase with age, etc. So, a normal range exists. Depending on the testing kit, the upper range of normal is anywhere between 300-500 usually, sometimes higher like 1100...

MINE IS 4,000!!!!! People with less than this have had serious heart attacks.

My internist I think reluctantly let me go home after my blood draw, but I can sense she's extremely worried. She wants me back for more tests right away. A very important one is on Friday, though my internist is chomping at the bit about me not waiting.

I can see I may be in for a long summer possibly in camp hospital.

OMG!!! How can this be? WOW!!!

Waiting?

by Dodiad71 - 2007-06-13 10:06:46

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for your post. Actually, my physician is allowing me to wait, but for no longer than 2 days. She's actually not pursued admitting me yet at this point.

Why Wait?

Dodi,

Is it your idea to wait? I know you probably don't want to go through any more tests or procedures but it sounds like this is serious and you don't need to wait!

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
