Conversyl

I have cardiac and pulmonary sarcoidosis and have an ICD. It's been over 6 weeks since the procedure. My Cardiologist advised that I start on Conversyl 5mg for a month as I have ejection farction of 48%. I have a AV 1:1 at rest and 2:1 on exertion.

Pulmonary specialist advise to monitor for 6 months and then review the lungs.

I have been reading about this medication and found it's mainly used for high blood pressure treatment. Also read the many side effects.

Any information on the use of this medication or has the similar case as myself is welcome.

Look forward on this.

Thanks

Conversyl is an ACE inhibitor and is prescribed for high blood pressure, as you know, and to help people with congestive heart failure. While I've not had Conversyl prescribed, but I have taken the ACE inhibitor lisinopril for my CHF. I had to stop because it lowered my BP to much. Didn't do a thing for the CHF either. Also, there were other side effects and one I recall very well was fatigue.

I know ACE inhibitors may help some people but to me they are in the same class as beta blockers - helps some but dosen't do squat for many.
