Was wondering if you can work in a undergound coal mine with a pacemaker?

I don't know anything about coal mining either but it involves much more than just not getting hit in the chest. There may be things like generators or radio transmitters or other electronic gizmos that could affect you.

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.
Coal Mining

If you were working in a coal mine before you got the pacemaker I don't see why you can't do it now that you have one. A pacemaker doesn't change anything, except it helps maintain a steady heart beat when needed. In fact it is entirely possible you may feel more like working now that you have a pacemaker.
There is one other consideration I should mention. I know nothing about coal mining except what I have seen on the news reels. So if there is a possibility that in your job you could get a direct blow on the pacemaker, then no you shouldn't do that work. A direct blow not likely to hurt the pacemaker, but it will hurt you and if hard enough it could damage the leads, or lead connection to the pacemaker.
