It SAVED My Life!

This may be a double post because I think I posted it in the wrong way the 1st. time. If so I beg your pardons.

What I'm about to tell you is nothing short of incredible. I posted on 14 Jan how fantastic I felt coming home with My new pacer/defib. That evening (Friday) around 7:30 pm I was sitting at My laptop when a feeling came over Me like I have Never experienced before. I was getting ready to pass out. I yelled for My wife & as I was heading towards the kitchen floor I could hear or sense My Defib charging up. I knew I was going to take a Hit.I got on the floor just as It discharged. HOLY !!!!!!!!!!!....I never lost consciousness. I yelled for My Wife to call 911. The paramedics showed up & off we went. The Boston Scientific rep was paged to the ER & 90 minutes later after interrogating My device We had the answer. I was going into Arrest & the defib smacked me with 1 Hit of 32 Joules(Watt/seconds) & snapped Me out of it. Less than 32 hours after installation it saved My bacon. The Docs & Hospital staffwere amazed & in awe. Not half as much as Me though. I returned home this afternoon grateful but, frankly, scarred. They have me on a Beta blocker now that's making me quite spacey. Anyone else have a similar experience (I hope not)?

That is amazing, I am so glad you had your pacer/defib. Mine is for a very slow heart rate, so I can not relate to the feeling of taking the "hit" but I am more amazed at how these devices save and improve our quality of life!

Your new best friend, huh? It's nice when it works so perfectly. Good to have you still with us.

I was a total space cadet on metoprolol. In hindsight, I should not have been driving while I was on it. It supposedly gets better once you've been on it a few weeks and get used to it. I never got used to it and switched to atenolol about a month ago. So far so good on this one. It doesn't seem to work as well, but it's nice to be sober again.

Maybe your heart got the message

That new defib just wanted to establish was boss. Now that your heart has been TASER'ed it won't try that again.

best,
