Tomorrow's the Day

Well had my appointment with the specialist today and I definitely need the pacemaker. He didn't want me to wait too much longer since I have been feeling pretty awful the last few days. I am scheduled tomorrow at 1:30 and will actually take my first taxi ride in years to get there tomorrow morning.

My sister drove us home from the appointment today because the doc didn't want me behind the wheel of the car. My sister hasn't driven since her hip surgery in 2004. We were trying to think of why I did all the driving and then realized that with her walker and bad left leg, it is much easier getting into the car from the passenger side. But she did okay, we took care of a few errands and I really can't wait until tomorrow to start feeling somewhat back to normal.

What normal is with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue is probably much better than the way we feel with 2nd degree AV block. I will let everyone know sometime over the weeked how I made out.

Thank you all for giving me a place to vent and talk and get answers when necessary.

Talk to everyone soon.

Good luck tomorrow. Remember to wear a button up shirt!!!

And for sleeping - have lots of pillows around to support your arm.

Wishing you the very very best and will be eagerly awaiting your update on the weekend!

You'll do just fine.

Would you believe I don't have any button down shirts. I guess I will have to rely on the nurses to make sure I don't leave the hospital naked, lol

I know I will have restrictions with raising my left arm, but will I be able to type or will I have to wait to use the computer?

Once again to all, thanks for the support, you are all wonderful.

you could always just use your good hand to type!!!

I'm sure you'll figure out a way how to type...we will all be waiting for your update.

No button down shirts...me neither come to think about it...just wear something really really baggy and loose.

I was back on my computer the same day! My husband was working from the hospital room and I swiped his laptop to send a few emails. You shouldn't have any problems sitting at a desk and typing.

You really won't want to be pulling a shirt over your head! Not only does it hurt, but it's not good for your new leads. I don't wear blouses either, I'm a tshirt girl. I found some cute button tops on the clearance rack at TJMaxx and a few more at Walmart. They'll keep me until I can put my arms up enough to get in a pullover again.

My situation is like yours...

I also have Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue and 2nd degree AV Block. The first thing I noticed when I went to my room after the pacemaker placement, was that I could take deeper breaths...felt like I could breath better. My incision was quite painful and very itchy as it healed. It has been three years this past December and I still feel some pain at the site once in a while. I have a lot of pain in the chest area with the FMS which can be very confusing when being questioned by the docs about chest pain. I know I have more energy with the pacemaker in place, not enough to run a marathon, but it did make a change for me and my situation. Hope this is helpful. Good luck to you.

Good luck, i am sure all will go great and this will help you out a lot. Cardiologists are very well trained; you are n good hands.

You know you're wired when...

You forecast electrical storms better than the weather network.
