It's Me

Hi Everyone,
It's me! I'm finally awake long enough to write something. This is going to be short and sweet (for a change). Just wanted to let you know that i have a staph infection. they figured this out last night when a friend came to visit and she mentioned the belly button piercings I had with her. It got infected and I tried to self diagnose and treat and unfotunately I let it go too far. It went into my bloodstream, but not near my heart. Because of that it affected my kidneys and almost every system in my body. I ignored the symptoms because again I thought I could deal with it. I never told anyone what was going on. Instead I put my family through hell and back and they are still talking to me.
So as of tonight, I'm still on lasix and a blood pressure medication along with massive doses of antibiotics and tomorrow they are going to replace my peripheral I.V lines with a PICC line so as to avoid further infection risk and give me better access for the antibiotics. Still have a fever, but Tylenol works great. Still have fluid on my lungs and my kidneys are still kinda sluggish, but doing better. I'm still in ICU and will be for a while until they get this thing and all my systems back under control. Very scared still and mad at myself for not saying anything to anyone, but as my brother said "it's done and get over it, now it's time to get better." Trying. Must go. Feeling sleepy again.

Hi Taryn,

So glad you have been able to identify the source. Thank goodness for your friend. My daughter had her belly button pierced and it looked so painful that I decided that it wasn't a good idea for me. I am the "Mom" after all so I don't have to have one.

I am so happy to know you are doing better. I pray you continue to improve!

Take care,
Pacergirl

GREAT!
