Phrenic nerve damage

I received right phrenic nerve damage during a cryoblation last April. I'm continually getting better, but still have some SOB when I lie down. I'm wondering how much longer I have to deal with this.
Has anyone else out there experienced phrenic nerve damage?

difficulty breathing. Others have mentioned having problems but have never named.it. It's quite possible that the problem is more common than indicated. Use the search window and type in "phrenic nerve damage" or "stomach" or "diaphragm" and see what you come up with.

From what I read phrenic nerve damage sounds like it is potentially very frightening.

It's horrible

It's awful, but fortunately I'm TONS better than I was right after it happened in April. I am so thankful that I'm better. I could not breathe at all. Talk about freaky. I mean.....I thought I'd been short of breath before. Nothing like this, hunny. I could not even walk 10 feet without stopping. My right side would not move when I breathed. The lower part of my right lung collapsed at one point, which hurt like hell. My right side is still diminished, but I believe that will get better too with time. The doctor had no idea that it would take this long.

Sounds terrible

Angelie,
It has to be so scary for you! It's so hard to get the doctors to listen to complaints. You are really blessed that they did listen. Even with symptoms like what you described all to often they are passed over as being a "heart patient's complaints" I am so glad that you are feeling better and it sounds like you are on the mend. Keep being a squeaky wheel if your symptoms continue otherwise doctors, just like the rest of us, become complacent with the status quo.
