IT ITCHES......for pete's sake!!!!!

Ya'll,
I'm going crazy. This doesn't even make sense to me. I just got implanted (that sounds weird....hee, hee) on 8/14/08. I have done amazingly well, but just yesterday my pacemaker site is ITCHING like crazy.
Up until now the site just stings once in a while, and I have figured it's just part of the healing process. I know that when things heal that they itch, but I haven't itched until now. It's a little late for that now, I thought.
Is this normal? HELP
Thanks bunches, ya'lI

Hi there Angelie.

Mine itched and stung too. When I enquired about it I was told that it was normal and it was the nerves knitting back together around the PM.

This could be what you're feeling, but if in doubt I should check with your PM clinic.

Angelie,

Hey there. I know how you feel Mine itched like Crazy for almost 4 months and still does at times. I spoke to my doctor about it and he said that it was normal and to try not to itch it to hard and use some anti itch cream if it got to be to much. Good luck.

I have had mine for a year and it itched most of the time. What helped me was Neosporin + Pain relief...it's made by Pfizer and you can get it over the counter. I have now had 3 injections of Kenalog which was like a miracle (up until this week....it is starting again, not as bad)

I had good luck with medical grade Vitamin E ointment. My chiropractor carries it, ask your doctor or pharmacist where to get it. It works a lot better than the otc stuff at the drug store.

Still itching

I was implanted on 5/16/08 and I'm still itching! The doctor told me it was part of the healing process and will take 6 to 12 months! I know after 2 C-sections that for a couple of years it would itch especially when it rained!

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
