Question

Does a cordless home phone cause the same interference as a cell phone?
Thanks,

neither one causes interference. Some cell phones can't be too close to some pacemakers, but most of them are fine. Newer pm's are shielded and safe around home appliances. If you do happen to have one that interferes, just use it on the opposite side as your pm, you only need to keep it 6" away. In 16 yrs with a pm and countless phones over the years, I've never had a problem.

Thanks

Cell Phone

For the most part the cell phones won't bother your pacemaker. I talk on mine on the left side, try to stick to the right side most of the time. The only time I had it act funky was when I had a total brain lapse and put my cell phone in my left chest pocket for a couple of hours. It caused my pacemaker to act funny, but I moved the cell phone and it settled down after a while.

Cordless phones are no problem

No, cordless phones are no problem.

Cell phones are rarely a problem but it's a good idea to hold it on the side opposite of the implant side.

That's what it says in the pacemaker manuals.

You know you're wired when...

You make store alarms beep.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
