It's about an hour video from a electrophysiologist of how the heart works, pacemakers and conditions of the heart.

Enjoy!

Just finished watching the video. It is well done. I don't need to say much about that aspect of it.

What is missing is covering the the down side to the various treatments. He casually mentions treating afib as an example with meds. All I need to do is read the prescribing information on the various med used to treat afib to find serious side effects. They are often mentioned on this site as well.

The same is true with ablation. He emphases the miraculous cure rates with them and in passing mentions that the doctor will go over them with the patient. Of course the doctor will minimized them as well. And what is never mentioned is that once heart tissue has been destroyed there is no putting it back if the outcome is negative.

This doesn't mean that the doctor is devious or dishonest. It affects professionals in almost any field when they are successfully carrying out their activities most of the time. A recent example is the plane crash with the Polish president on board. I'm sure that the pilot had successfully completed a very risky landing in fog many times and couldn't see any reason to inconvenience his boss this time by aborting.

This is one of the reasons I am so demanding of doctors. I provide a different perspective to bring him down to earth.

Any time you hear the statement "Don't worry about this med or procedure" raise a red flag in your mind.
