Pacemaker & esophagus surgery

Has anyone had experience with esophagus surgery while having a pacemaker?  I have Barretts Esophagus and a tumor in my esophagus that is cancerous. I will need surgery to have it removed and was wondering if there were anyone out there who had gone through a similar experience.

Thanks

Tom

Sorry to hear of the cancer in the esophagus - my brother had a tumor there as well. I begged him to go into Boston for an evaluation for "cyber knife surgery" and also there is a new laser surgery that is having great results. My brother chose to use radiation and chemo at the same time and that made him loose teeth and eventually his life because it caused so many other problems. Apparently Michael Douglas did the same type of treatment and is doing much better. The first time my brother did it, the tumor seemed to be gone and then it returned.
Talk to all drs. about treatments - state of the art treatments. The dr. my brother choose only did chemo and radiation - that is what she did so that is what he got. He needed more options.
Prayers are with you and don't be afraid to ask for the best. The Mayo clinic I think is where the laser is starting.
