okay has anyone experienced this?

Barbara had her implant on Thursday - she is home and trying to get back to normal but her shoulder (left side) on top of shoulder she said she feels like pins are sticking her and it is more or less continuous and her chest feels a bit heavy. Anyone had this kind of feeling - still the conerned Mom. lillian

Hi Lillian.

This is her 6th day with the new pacer...right?

Yes, it takes time to heal inside & out and mentally. A lot of people go thru anxiety, which is perfectly normal. It will just take time for everything to get back to "normal".

However, with that being said, if your daughter is experiencing pain...pain is the only way our bodies can tell us something is wrong. If she is having pain, then go to your ER or to an Urgent Care or a Walk In Clinic or whatever you have there...just for peace of mind and safety of course.

In my opinion, and I'm not a doctor by any means, if her chest is feeling heavy, it should be checked out.

I know it's a pain in the butt to go to the ER, but just go to get checked out and then both of you will feel better. That is what the ER is there for.

Ask the ER to do a simple chest Xray...that way they can see the leads and if there is any fluid in or around the heart. I'm not saying this to scare you, I'm telling you this because I had similar issues and well, mine turned out to be a huge problem....I fell into that less than 1% category that something would go wrong, and it did.

She's a heart patient and she'll be seen rather quickly I hope. I know we do here....in Canada.

Again, better safe than sorry.

Good luck.
Pookie

Hi there, the pins and needles is the nerves knitting back togetherand finding new routes, and I had exactly the same pulling down sensation, felt like my boob was being weighed down and it ached. Wore a good bra for a time, but to be honest its all gone now and can go without a bra all day without it hurting. I think swimming really helps, but dont stretch the arm too far at first

Tell her not to worry
