It's the worried Mom again

My daughter (56) had her pacemaker put in 2 weeks ago. She left last week for a trip to Chicago by car and then flew to Florida with her husband for a little rest and relaxation. She feels good, but when picking her up at the airport tonight she told me last night she woke up and her heart was palipating and of course anxiety set in - she couldn't sleep all night - she was plain afraid - I thought after the PM was put in this palipating and otgher stuff going on would stop and so did she - she is calling the doctor tomorrow to see what is going on. I wonder if the trip just plain wore her out - otherwise she said she felt okay. What do you all think - do palipatations still happen even after the PM is put in - does it continue forever.
Help if you can please and thanks this is such a great site even for concerned Moms. lillian

middle of the night

Pm's go through a self test daily, and it's usually programmed for the middle of the night when we'll sleep through it. She may have felt that and panicked.

Having a pm won't stop palpitations. It'll speed up a slow beat and smooth out an irregular beat but it can't stop the heart from beating on its own.
