shifting

ICD was placed on Monday...

When I shift from my back to more on my right side...or sometimes when I sit up from laying down, I feel like the device moves. Is this normal or dangerous? Surely the leads or long enough to handle a little shifting??

Thanks

btw...mine is under the top part of my breast tissue, not just under the skin.

I too feel the same. Mine was implanted two weeks back and today is my first visit.

A little is normal

A little shifting is normal. You'll learn, after having it a while, what feels "right" to you, and what doesn't.
My pacemaker would almost be sideways while lying on my left side. Although, I noticed it, it wasn't really uncomfortable, or painful.

Just make sure you tell your doctor if anything is of a concern to you.

Safe, and happy healing.

I'm 3 weeks post op and I asked the same question here when I 1st joined. And I also have mine deep in the pectoral muscle, almost behind my breast. Mine seemed to shift when I'd lie in my right side. So I'd press a small soft pillow over the site before I turned which seemed to keep it in place. On my wound check visit last week, I asked that question as well and was told that yes, it can shift, but only a very small amount. Being sore there, it feels like it moves more! But as I heal, it seems like the "pocket" is healing up around it, holding it in better now. And I no longer feel it shifting when I turn on either side. "Hope that helps a little.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
