Slowly Getting Better

Hello. I'm recovering from the epicardial lead placement Feb. 11th. It has been a slow, slow process with some ups and downs. I ended up in the ER Friday night with horrible chest pain. The drs. checked out my heart and pacemaker right away and did lots of blood work, everthing was great. They decided it was sort of an accumulated side effect of the darvacet, stomach acid and chest pain from three recent surgeries all stacked together. They gave me a muscle relaxant, and a non-narcotic pain med and warm compresses to my chest. All three seemed to help quite a bit. I'm just having lots of soreness on my whole left side of my chest. But, good news is, I do feel a bit better every day. Just not as quickly as I had hoped, but then I'm not 25 any longer!!! Susan

I don't even know what an epicardial lead placement is,but it doesn't sound pleasant.

I'm glad, however, to hear that you went to the ER when you know you needed to because far too often people take the "wait & see" approach and personally, I think they are playing with their lives sometimes. If I had taken that approach, I wouldn't be here typing to you.

Yup, I have to agree with you on the recovery process, it is always too too slow. What's that saying??? Rome wasn't built in a day? LOL.

Take care,
Pookie
