Pleurisy

I've never had lung problems until my phrenic nerve palsy episode after an ablation in April. Now, I guess I'm plagued with chronic lung problems. It appears that I don't breathe deep enough now, and air just can't quite circulate as it used to. I'm so glad people can manage to live normal, active lives with one good lung.
Just got back from the doc who declared pleurisy and bronchitis. My upper chest is killing me. What's best for the pain. I'm about to break out the Ultracet. It just feels like Patch is sitting on me and dang it, he won't budge. Crazy fool.
Seriously, any suggestions?

I'm going home to take some pain meds. My chest has been hurting all day. I sure hope it doesn't get any worse than it right now.

No wonder it's been killing me in the morning, because I'm pretty much a back sleeper. Now I know.....thanks again.

Hi there Angelie.

Lotti here from the UK. I really do know how you are feeling. I had Bronchal Pneumonia with severe pleuresy awhile back and I know how painful it is. Mine got real bad so that I could not even stay on my feet when coughing and ended up in hospital for 3 1/2 weeks. I was given diclofenac (sp) by the hospital. Take the strongest anti inflamitaries you are allowed and keep wrapped up. It will take a while to recover fully and I still have trouble with getting a good breath when it gets cold and damp as it has left my lungs scarred.
I hope yours will not be severe and you recover soon.
Take care
ps. Try to sleep propped on your side as it is even more painful if you wake having slept on your back
