Pheochromocytomas

For those who have been following what has been happening to me since August 25, 2010 this is an educational update,

While in the hospital this last time I had a CT scan of the chest done to check for clots. All was negative except for a 3mm mass on my adrenal gland that was picked up by the radiologist. They compared it against a CT scan I had in Feb 2010 and found it just on the edge of that film, but said the size had not increased in 6 months.

Luckily for me this was an incidental find and not something a doctor would normally check for.

Pheochromocytomas are tumors of the adrenal gland that produce excess adrenaline. This may or may not explain the sudden rapid heart beats and sudden increase in bp among some of my other symptoms which have been sporadic. Right now I am doing a 24 hour urine collection that will give the doctor and me some answers.

You have a T-shirt that reads “Wired4Sound”.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
