Shocking

So I have a rather strange question. Every time I get out of my car I get shocked. Not by my pacemaker; by "shocked" I mean the kind where when you were a kid you would run your feet along the floor and touch something metal and see the "elelctric arc" go between your finger and the metal piece. Sometimes it's a small shock, sometimes it actually gets me quite good! Does anyone know if this actually does anything to the pacemaker?

I wouldn't think it would have any effect on your pm. Your hair? well that may be another thing.

Well..

I highly doubt there is any connection between the PM & being shocked.
I think dryness, lack of moisture is reason for the shocks.
My husband practically beats a door with his knuckles before he opens it for fear of a shock. @@ I keep telling him I've never read of anyone dying from them! LOL

SIMPLY SHOCKING!

I often get shocked and it was happening before the Pacemaker was placed,at work, home, and while shopping in Walmart. Walmart was the worst because the shocks were almost constant while pushing the cart. I asked the cashier about it, she looked at me like I was crazy...never heard of it. Even getting out of my car brings on a shock event and I have leather seats. Pretty wild. Makes life interesting!

Pumping Gas

I get those nasty shocks all the time. The only time you should be concerned is when you're pumping gas at the gas station. I've heard if you're pumping gas and you get that kind of shock it can actually ignite the gasoline! Make sure as you are getting out of your car you touch your car door or something to get the shock BEFORE you pump your gas.

hi, just wanted to let you know I never got shocks before when getting out of the car, but the last few months it has been bad, wonder if it has anything to do with the battery in pacemaker beginning to wear out..was told would proably have to have it replaced by Sept or Oct.

You know you're wired when...

You prefer rechargeable batteries.
