Ticosyn

Has anyone used Ticosyn? Thats the next step for my AF.
Can't do an ablation for 4 more months because of my last surgery so a hospital stay for 3 days to try Ticosyn then another cardioversion and have been told by my new cardiologist who is a gem it might help me get out of AF for a little while till I can have an ablation. I have been in AF 100% of the time since my surgery in March.
Thanks for any help.

I have been on it for 5 years with no problems. I was first on amadarone, so out of breath I could not walk 100 feet. Then on sotalol, sick as a dog for 4 months (lost 40 lbs) then went to Tikosyn, as far as I am concerned it is wonderful. I get it thru medco mail in, my cost is $70 for 90 days. my insurance pays the rest.

for immediate answers, type Tikosyn in the search window. I know this discussion has come up before.

I tried it, but it failed while I was still in the hospital. You have to get set up with a pharmacy that is certified to dispense it before they even let you leave the hospital. I was willing to try it because they claimed that it was similar to another medicine (the name is escaping me at the moment) which I refused to take due to possible lung scarring, eye problems, sun sensitivity, and greyish blue skin.

Hope it works for you,
Angelie

I take it, no problems. He has me on it along with Lopressor.
He was/is hoping it works so I won't have to have the ablation. So far so good.
I've been on it for 4 mos. next week.
I order it through Precision Rx & they deliver it. My insurance only pays part of it so the remainder for me is $60.00.

Yes I spelled it wrong. It won't help for long thats why they would have to do the ablation.
Thanks for the information Renee and Angelie.
I'm on Multaq but it hasn't helped.
