UGHH

So yesterday I got this "weird" shock like feeling go from chest down to my feet, like i got stuck in an electrical outlet!!! It lasted just a few seconds but what in the world was it?? Anyone?? And then I got very upset with my kids, and well got pain in my chest that lasted most of the night...I checked my pulse it was 102!!! ( I have suffered from Bradycardia for so many years, & when I normally get upset my HR plumets instead of rises..because the ventrical veins constrict)..(weird enuff i know) So this whole HR of 102 thrw me for a loop, it actually hurt! My chest feels a little better today, but it was scarey, can I throw myself into a heart attack like this? Grrr.
Also, I am sooo weepy!! For 2 days now off and on all I have done is cry, I am doing way too much for someone who had surgey 5 days ago, having too much stress & just UGH! my poor hubby, bless his heart is trying to do theb est hecan, I know this...BUT... man why did all this have to happen? SORRY for complaining..... I am just overwrought at this point.

Normally a cheerful and optimistic person,
Brooke

Hang in there!

I think that feeling weepy for a couple of days is completely normal - I certainly was like that! It's natural, because of the frustration, the "huh?" feeling ("what just happened to me???"), and just accepting what's happened. And, for a normally positive person, it's particularly frustrating to find yourself weepy, I know!

As for the change in heartrate, make a note and make sure you mention it when you go for your first check-up. As you think of questions you want answered, write them down too. It may simply be that an adjustment in the PM settings will be needed. I don't know about the 'shock' feeling, but now that your heart rate is more 'normal' you may find that 102 is not surprising, when you get upset, have a coffee, whatever. If my rate goes up a lot, my chest hurts afterwards too. It's annoying, but no-one seemed to think it cause for concern.

Keep posting with your worries and frustrations. We're here to help you through them.

Hang in Brooke

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Hang in there. But first take a deep breath and rest. My goodness, 5 days! Give yourself a break! You have got to take time to heal. You can come here and complain... no one here minds that. But what you MUST do first is calm down and just let things happen for a while. You really don't have to be Super Woman/Mom/wife. Just take it easy and let Super Dad take over and tell super kids mom needs some TLC.
I have bradycardia but I have never had the shocking sensation you felt, but my PM has been so "typical" and I have had no problems, so I can't help you there, but I am sure you will get some posts that can.
Really, just take it easy. It was 3 weeks before I didn't feel like the whole world was spinning out of control. But it does get better.
Good Luck

It will get better

Brooke, today I am 3 weeks post pm surgery for 3rd degree heartblock. I woke up today feeling almost like my old self. Just came back (9:30 am) from a 1 mile, yes 1mile!!!, walk with the dog. I am exuberant beyond words.

When I first came home from the hospital (I was in there for almost 6 days), I took it easy for a couple of days and then tried to dive right back in as if nothing happened, but I too broke down that I did not have the energy or strength to do all the things I did before.

Over the weekend I did all the laundry myself, but did need help carrying the baskets up and down the stairs, Monday I ironed, and last night I cleaned the kitchen. Just seeing that clean kitchen made me feel better. LOL!

It's ok to cry out of frustration, etc., I did so again last night and my husband hugged me, finally understanding how and why I feel the way I do. But I promise it will get better each day. I still feel weird sensations, but I probably felt a lot of stuff before that I ignored, but now because of what happened may be paying a little more attention to.

Brooke if you ever want to talk message me! Hugs to you.
