I have questions & crankiness

Interroagtion..they just dida bunch of read outs and thats it, no changes nothing, and that was at the time of wound check..was that the interrogation?? How do know if it was? Healing...not going well..inscion is lumpy & sore and itchy and i want this thing GONE!!! I am feeling tied down because of ot, and bothered. I have all these lil sores all over from the steri strips, and different reaction to tapes. i am just cranky. My daughter even says Doc did a bad job on the inscsion. it looks like a chop job. There is a constant pinching feeling in there..and UGHHHH just a bad day!!!! Sorry folks... really. I just feel like i am overwhelmed by everything.

I'm confused. When you had your Dr. appt. (last week I believe) you posted it went well & you felt better.
Now you post:

they just dida bunch of read outs and thats it, no changes nothing, and that was at the time of wound check..was that the interrogation?? How do know if it was?

My advice would be to "ASK" questions. Write them down before hand so when you're in there you don't forget.
Sometimes as we're healing, incisions get itchy. If that's the case, it just means you're mending!
Maybe you & your Doc haven't "clicked." Schedule your next appt. with one of his/her associates.
Hope the day is getting better for you.

So what are you going to do about it

Brooke,
There are some crumby docs out there, but we can't help that. The responsibility is on our shoulders to take action to get what we want. This usually amounts to finding another doc and letting him/her know you expect results.

Having said that I realize it is hard to do especially when we are feeling lousy. Just keep in mind that if you have the pacemaker GONE as you put it, you will feel even worse.

best of luck,

frank

Sorry doll

So sorry you are having a hard time... I was going to call you but our dang power has gone out 3 times today & it erased all the numbers from my caller id. Call me. I am sorry things are rough.

Funny how it can be great one day & terrible the next, huh? I am sure L.S. has experienced this, also. I have a number of times. I know since I got my PM my moods & feelings about it have fluctuated a ton! Especially these 1st few week. I love the PM then I well...don't. =) After the appointment I felt better because I had some answers, but was thoroughly confused a few days later. It is OK, you will figure it all out in time. Keep you chin up. It will get better!
Love you!

incisions

Are you putting anything on it? I use a vitamin E ointment and it gets rid of the itchiness as soon as I smear it on. It's also great for the soreness from the steristrips. Aloe's worked pretty well for me, too, just check the label to make sure it's pure aloe because some brands have alcohol and dyes. The plastic surgeon who assisted with my last replacement (had a lot of scar tissue to clean up) said she'd seen good results with band aid brand scar treatment also. They can look worse before they get better. It will change and hopefully improve over the coming months. Mine is raised and red now at 8 weeks, but I know from having it done before that by 6-8 months it will be flat and white.

Not everyone has a daily self check, and if you do they try to program it so it happens in the middle of the night. It feels the same as when they do an interrogation. An interrogation is when they hook it up to the computer.

It will get better!!!! We all have bad days. Come vent and get it out then move on.

Hi

Hi Brooke,
Sorry things are not going well. It is tough when you have something implanted into your body. It took me a while to get adjusted and remember having itchiness and some pain from the tape and steristrips. I also put vit. E on it and it seemed to help me.

Also, make sure you when you walk out of your doctors office you have all you questions answered. I always go in with a list of questions that I wrote down on a pad of paper, and I make sure he answers each one.

Good luck with everything and I hope things get better soon!

Up's & downs

Yes Jessi, I have experienced ups & downs.
I try to pass along experience, strength & hope.
I hope I'm able to pass along a "tiny" bit of any of these on any given day as I've received so much from this board in my short time here.

Hang in there

Believe me I can relate to all your pains and frustrations. Some days can just be really bad but you have to stay strong for the children. When it gets bad try to stay busy or do something that will help keep your mind off of it. It will slowly get better. We are pulling for you and hope your situation improves. Let the doc know exactly how you feel and what your are going through,
Best wishes,
Dwight
