Hi..Ever since my pm implant ..July 09..I have experanced a noticable heart pounding..Its very high at night when I am at rest...Its almost like when you exert yourself and your heart starts pounding...only this occurs when you are at rest ..My ca cannot find nothihg wrong and [of cource], wants to give me a pill... I feel fine otherwise and am trying to ignore it ...Any body have any ideas?.. Thanks John..new member

I was reading your post and thought me too too ! At night only, I hear my heart beating more. Before my pacemaker implant in 2002, I never heard it before. I think maybe I am listening more closely and lying there thinking too much. I do not think its anything is wrong, it is just us "pacemaker people" paying attention more to our bodies. Don't worry it nothing .......

Hiya,
I was the same. My pm implant was Jan 09 and I felt like my heart was trying to get out of my chest! It was worse at night but I think that was just cos it was quiet and you don't have as many distractions so notice it more. I was told that it was because I was pacing so much ventrically (99%) and that if you didn't pace much there and more atrially then you wouldn't notice it as much.
I don't often notice it now I have got used to it but it is still there
