At 65 years old, I just had a pacemaker implanted the end of February 2010. I'm just learning about my pacemaker. I have felt pretty good since receiving the pacemaker except when I sit down in my recliner or lay down. My heart flutters. I can work in the yard and do lots of physically active tasks and this does not happen. It is only when I sit or lay down. It is not constant but has lasted intermitently over an hour. I also have a pain in the middle of my back since the surgery that hasn't gone away. I had a nuclear stress test yesterday. Don't have the results as yet. My pace maker is a Sorin SN. If you have heard of this problems or experienced it yourself, can you help me understand what is going on? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a suggestion....
Have you had a chance to discuss this with your Cardiologist? If not, then perhaps you could get an appointment with him/her. I truly think it should be discussed.
Another option/suggestion is to be seen by an EP.
Have you had your pacemaker checked yet? Perhaps it could be as simple as having some of your settings adjusted.
If I were you, and you didn't have your pacer "interrogated" yet....I'd be asking for it to be done as soon as possible.
There is a solution, sometimes you just have to push your doctors a bit. :)
Take care and keep us posted.
