First Day Back at Work - Update

Yesterday was my first`day back at work. I posted yesterday how worried I was. Well - I survived!

I definitely was worried: could feel myself getting anxious in the lecture room. And I get really excited when I teach, which was weird for me because I have spent the last 4 weeks trying to stay calm. I think its going to take a while to feel comfortable again, and I'm not expecting an immediate transformation: I'll be happy with progress, however small.

But it did feel so good to see all my students again, and to feel 'normal', doing the things I used to do. I was able to forget about the PM for a while, which was great. Came home and couldn't sleep because of all the excitement, but that too is a change from falling asleep exhausted at 10pm as I have been.

Back again today, so really glad yesterday went ok. For anyone in the same situation I just want to say give it a go: you might be nervous, but that's normal, and you can do it!

Thanks to everybody who posted yesterday to support me. Your good wishes REALLY made a difference: I took them mentally into the lecture room with me, and it reminded me how I don't need to feel alone on this. Once again, the people on this site are making a real difference to their fellow PM people!

Glad you survived unscathed!can stand in front of large numbers of people, and to do it so successfully while very anxious is brilliant. Hope you have many more happy days lecturing. In a couple of weeks you won't think twice about it.
best wishes Jan

Knew you could do it!

The increase in energy is a very good sign. Take it from me..there is nothing at this point to worry about. Get back to the things you love, like teaching, and enjoy yourself. Don't let the new energy be mistaken for being over excited. You probably haven't flet this way for a while.

By the way I taught electronics for 18 years and loved it. Then I retired and started my own business, which also involved teach professionals to use the equipment I designed.

And now I am enjoying teaching what I know about pacemakers here on the site.
