not sure what might be going on

I had a pacemaker put in 2007, and haven't really felt that great since.
I am hoping that someone might shed some light on this problem.
I went to the hospital on Thrus. and was feeling terrible. I really have been getting worse in the last month. I am super tired, I can hardly climb up the stairs, I don't smoke, I am not overweight, etc. The only thing that we have changed is, high speed inter net and the use of a router.I have a lot of static in my body. However, the hospital thinks I am out there. There also, is a tightness in my chest. I had the pacemaker checked on Thrus. The lady said the top of the heart was beating 100 and the bottom 50, they did some programing, but I still feel just as bad...
I would appreciate any help and assistance on this.
The tiredness is getting toooo old.
Thanks
Shirly

any medications?

Hi Shirly,

Are you taking any medications or supplements? I felt as you have described until I started taking a Beta Blocker - now I'm tired but I no longer feel the heaviness in my chest. I don't get short of breath any longer either when taking the stairs. I've only had my pacemaker for a year. Good luck and take care.

no medications

I have been taking supplements for a long time, no meds as of yet. I don't think they know what is wrong with me. Before the pacemaker I was passing out and not knowing it. But, it took them a while to figure that one out. Once I had it in I was zoning out alot and a clicking started in my head. They thought I was out to lunch....Finally, they programed it differently. I just haven't felt that great and now this is worse. I have a ton of Dr's and they just go by their books. Years ago it was different.
Hopfully the monitor will be read by Wed.....
Thanks for caring enough to answer.
Shirly.

I thought she was talking about atrial and ventricular rates, not blood pressure. With a heart block, the atrial rate is faster then the ventricular rate, a pm fixed it so they beat in sync. If she's still beating out of sync, something is way off in her settings.

My blood pressure was high, not usually. 142 over 92, pulse 100.
The person that checked the pacemaker said, that the top of the heart was 100 and the bottom was 50. That is when she went to see the heart dr.
Then they reprogramed the pacemaker. I still don't feel the greatest.
They shut off the bottom, and I hope that the clicking wouldn"t start up again.
I am sorry if I confussed anyone.

Have you seen your physician as it could be something else other than pacemaker programming. It sounds to me like you need to talk to your doctor about possibly having a cardiac workup.

new doc?

Something is not right, either the way they're explaining it to you or the way your dr is programming your pm. If your atria is doing 100, the pm should help your ventricles keep up and do 100 also. 100 in the atria and 50 in the ventricles is a 2:1 block, which is why you'd get a pm in the first place and can cause those symptoms. Unless there's a reason why your heart should not be beating that fast, there's no reason why a pm would be set to work that way. I would suggest getting a second opinion. Or, if you have been living with it but not pushing your current doc for answers, start there and be the sqeaky wheel until you get some answers. There's no reason to accept feeling that way!

The router and internet will not make a difference in your pm! Pm's are shielded and most home electronics do not interfere with them.

I had a 2 day monitor put on over the weekend, it was sent in today......The pacemaker nurse did talk to my heart doctor, on Thrus., and he recommended the monitor...
I just haven't felt good since they put the pacemaker in. I just want to have a day that I feel like doing something.
