pin pricks and sore

I am now in month three. Still am bothered with arm and at incision site aches and pains. Asprin does not touch the pain. At incision site sometimes I feel like I am a voodo doll and I am being stuck with pins. It also feels kind of numb on the lower side and sometimes also aches. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this feeling . This site is the greatest place because because we can chat with others who have had the same surgery and I don not know anyone in my circle of friends who has. When i ask a nurse they really don't seem to know anything about the symptoms I have had but here I get answers!! This place is wonderful!! nm

I Know What You Mean

I had my pacemaker implanted 2/4/2010, which is now 5 months. I still have numbness top of shoulder, slightly down arm and top of pacemaker. I also am still quite sore. Sleeping is really tough, just finding a comfortable position. I also suffer from fibromyalgia and so much of this pain is excelerated from that.

I am going to make an appointment with a neurologist to check out the numbness. Even though there is probably nothing they can do for it, I just need to make sure it is from the surgery. My surgery took longer because they had to go back in to reposition a lead. That meant that the tape holding down my breast was pulled twice, which probably damaged the nerves in that area. I don't mind dealing with this issue knowing that the pacemaker is helping me.

Hope you feel better soon.
