upper arm pain

I had my pacemaker on March 12, 2010. A couple of days ago, my upper arm has been painful. Has any one experienced this?

Mine was implanted on March 17 and I also still get the painful shoulder and upper arm problem. I used a regular pillow( just like Renee recommended) under my arm when sleeping or just watching tv at night and that helps somewhat. Toward the end of the day my shoulder and arm still ache and I use a heating pad. Hope this helps!

Ask anyone and you will probably get a dozen different explanations. I was told not to use a sling after the PM implant. All the medical people said that could/ would "freeze" my shoulder and cause pain which required rehab. Did you use a sling after PM implant?

My GP said any pain I was experiencing in the shoulder/upper arm area was a "rotary cuff" problem.

My diagnosis is "Mr. Arthur (itis, that is)". It comes and goes.

Each person heals differently and you probably are experiencing the general pain of your incision and not being able to use that side of your body like usual.
Whatever works for you, a heating pad, a pillow or anything that makes you more comfortable is what your body is telling you to do.

upper arm pain

Thank you all for your replies. Before I had the pain, every couple of days, I would feel a sharp ping in the arm which only lasted a second. Then the pain started. I did use a sling. I am also having trouble sleeping since I also had a double bypass on March 9, 2010.
