8 weeks since implant - NMH

Hey I'm Sarah! I am 16, from Australia and I have NMH (neurally mediated hypotension) After being mistreated for a few years, we eventually saw a smart cardiologist who gave me the pacemaker. My scar got a golden staf infection, twice, and the sutures pushed themselves out, I can now sleep comfortably, and my pacemaker is awesome! The settings aren't right yet, but they will be fixed soon, just have to wait a bit longer : ) My scar is looking nice, healed up nicely after the sutures are now gone, I can now wear tshirts again, but I find it hard to wash my hair in the shower. Overall pain of the surgery wasn't that bad. It didn't really hurt at all.

So far I know my pacemaker is really helping me, I used to get whiteouts more than 45 times daily, but have now cut back an amazing amount. (well, depending what setting the pacemaker has been on) I am now on the highest setting it can go, and my cardiologist says ALL of his patients are on this setting. I hope this setting is the one for me : )

I will soon have my life back! I know it. Thanks for reading! Hope you are having a good day,
~Sarah V

Hey Sarah

Hell you had a bit of a hell of a time getting the pacey put in now didn't you? That's great that you are already seeing a difference & it will hopefully only get better as your Cardiologist tweaks your settings. I'm in Aus too & got mine just on 7 yrs ago just before my 30th birthday. I found Olay night cream fantastic on my scar once it healed over - you can barely see mine at all & my Cardilogist is stoked how good mine looks. I've met a couple of people who tried Bio Oil but even they were surprised how good my scar looked. Thought you might like the hint as I find it drove me nuts sometimes when I first got it having to tell people what the scar was as it was so visible. Good luck with everything & hang in there.

glad to hear alls going well. Just make sure you look after your scar site and your skin all around the top of chest area, just in case they need to resite it at some stage in the future, so that your skin is in good condition. Keep it well moisturised and DO NOT get it sunburned. Fake tan that bit if you have to.
