Kettlebells

I got a set of 3 Kettlebells for Christmas & was wondering if this would be a safe exercise to do. I have had a PM since May 2010 & would like to lose some weight.  I’ve started Sweating to the Oldies with Richard Simmons & am doing fine with that, but I’m concerened about the Kettlebells. Any input will be appreciated!
Thanks!

You have had plenty of time for the leads to settle in and the incision to heal. Just start slowly and stop if it doesn't feel right or is painful. In that case you might check it out with the doc.

By the way you might have a little soreness just from going through a wider range of motion. Don't worry about that..only if it starts feeling real sore.

I was told not to lift more than 8 lbs. so I use 8 lbs. per arm at the same time along with many different exercises. I also wear leg weights all day long - at least 2-3 times per week - usually when I am running around doing laundry down below and up 2 flights for the loft and m. bdrm so I am forced to get the exercise. I have learned to just go about my day with them on my legs - it beats the bike or eliptical. Sometimes I use the bike with weights on the legs but not often. I use the weights for the arms about 5 times a week/several times per day.
Your dr's office can give you more specific weights to start off with - I would go to 10 lbs. but no dice with the dr's office.
