Dizzy (Continued)

Some of you may remember that a short while ago, I experienced episodes of dizziness, shortness of breath, tingling in the extremeties during some innocuous activity, but following, by about 90 minutes, some vigorous swimming sessions. In other words, strong physiccal activity followed by about an hour and a half of relaxation, then experiencing near syncope.
I called my cardio and felt like I had hit a brick wall with his receptionist. Then today, I'm in my home office minding my own business and the phone rings. It's the Doctor's office and his assistant tells me that he's waiting for me at the Heart Institute! OK. So we'll put it down to a bureaucratic mixup.
Anyway, I get there, they punch me through an electrocardiogram and within 10 minutes the Doctor comes to get me.
The Doctor told me that when I called, my description of the symptoms were of enough concern to convince him to meet with me rather than just calling me up. I got all the time I needed with him. He listened intently, read the electro results, consulted the file, checked my pressure, breathing and heart rate, etc. A good visit!
It seems that this 59 year-old heart is going through bouts of tachycardia. At the present time, the Doctor is not too concerned because the episodes are brief. I'm not too sure about the details, but it seems that when my ticker does this, the phenomenon is quickly offset by extra systolic beats (I'm not clear on that last point so if I've made a factual error, feel free to correct me). At this time, he will have me wear a Holter monitor in a month (first date available). I am to contact him if things get worse, but for the time being we will simply monitor the situation.
Other than that, I feel great and my little friend and I are getting along swimmingly.
Regards to all
Edouard

I am so glad things are at least being looked at. Being dizzy (or any other symptom that may arise after having a pacer or defib) is more than frustrating and even worse when you think your doctors don't give a hoot about you.

Hopefully the Holter Monitor will reveal some answers, it did for me:) and my wait time to get one was about the same.

You must feel better now - like a weight has been lifted now that your doctor is taking you seriously.

I'm happy for you:)
