new symptom

had pacer inserted april 21, 2010 and was doing fair until the first adjustment. now i have developed a sharp stabbing pain under my heart which feels like a knife moving to my back. i have radiating pain to my left neck up to the left juglar side . today my husband and i planned a trip to an aquarium and when we left the house i was good and then all of a sudden i thought we would have to turn back.the pain near and below my heart would limit deep breathing and when i inhale , the pain is at least a 10-12 range. i have had it for 15 hours now. i have taken vicodin (3) and 4 tylenol today which i never take. i got some some relief initially but then with any moving or deep breathing about it comes back 10x's worse.and bending down is out of the question .
time for bed and i am afraid of what i will have happen in the night. i will upate you if i make it thru the night. the symptoms are not typical of any dx or s/s that i have read about.
i was doing so great and as soon as i see and feel greatness, i fall back many steps to proceed with being free of any complaints. i tink my husband thinks i am somehow making these intensities up, because how can one move about with such events. i am getting very depressed thinking about what tomorrow will bring.i see the pacer nurse on monday and it seems no one ever has an answer for a permanent fix. "it all takes time and everyone is different" i at times feel like an experiment and question whether this was the right thing to do?i did not have a lot of time to research and pick the best of the doctors who deal in this EP as the very best were out of network for me. and now looking at my bills i am guessing about $125,000 for my care. my ins has not sent me any bils and vcovered everything at 100%, but i am not functioning at 100%. the pacerakers are 40-70 thousand each and i ahd two inserted, first one removed as it was not successful. and no one has ever sat down and described the entire surgical procedure. "you are doing great, time will heal". i live in fear everyday of my life and is this what the rest of my life is really to be like? i was almost perfect before surgery?? but am so happy AF gone , is that only temp also and will the alien (AF)appear again.
hopefully, i will look back at this posting in a couple of months and say, what were you thinking!!!!!!

Any time you have chest pain bad enough to take pain killers, you need to go to the ER!!!!!! Better go for nothing than not go for something serious.

Agreed

I agree with TraceyE here. If you are having that kind of pain, you really need to get it checked out. That could be nothing, but it could be something very dangerous.

I'm later reading this, but if your pain is so severe that you need pain killers, I hope you've gone to the ER.
