Excercise

Since my replacement on Monday, I've hung out with the fam and done plenty of walking...went to the zoo, shopping, etc. But everyday when I get home I've been exhausted and took a nap. I've yet to do anything to really get this baby going. How long did it take some of you to really get after it and not be tired. I do live in Texas so the heat could be a contributing factor to me tiring out. I was thinking about hitting the gym and getting on the treadmill tomorrow. A little nervous about breaking the new device in...sometimes I wish they'd treadmill test you before you left the hospital.

Went from a Medtronic Sigma to the Adapta...was told they kept the settings the same as the last pacer.

Replacements are pretty easy, but it's still a surgery and anesthesia for your body to recover from. I'm usually extra tired for a week or two after a replacement. If it doesn't get better, I'd verify that the settings are the same. Sometimes the new one has bells and whistles that the old one didn't so the settings are approximately the same, which is not the same as exactly the same so it may still need tweaked.

Have had my PM for over 2 weeks and the docs at the hospital told me to take things easy for the first month. This included all exercise!
I too take a walk of a mile or so but I don't hurry. Occasionally I feel slightly light headed during the walk and I stop and drink water. After a month the doc will listen to the PM function adjust it if necessary and ask a ton of further questions before giving the O.K. to go back to one's normal lifestyle.
Don't be in any hurry Jon.
Regards,
James.
