Had Tilt Test Today....results

Hi all. I've just got back from having the Tilt Test at the hospital. I'm a bit confused! The test was negative....I had no dizziness at all during the test. They said my BP was 100/60 to start & responded well to the test (ie did not drop etc). They said my dizziness is nothing to do with any blood pressure problems.

That is great news but I'm just confused as to what it could be causing it. I'm now wired up on the 24 hour ECG monitor & already had 4 dizzy episodes since I got home a short while ago. So if it is anything cardiac causing the dizziness, the monitor should detect it shouldn't it?

Taking the monitor back tomorrow. My treadmill/exercise test is due on Oct 28th & seeing my EP on Nov 15th.

Can a cardiac cause result in dizziness even though my arrhythmia seems to be corrected after the ablation 11 weeks ago? Just wondering if I've got another funny rhythm going on that comes & goes & causes the dizziness (as the Tilt test is negative).

It's great news that although my BP is lowish, it responds as it should. They even tried GTN in the test but still nothing happened (no dizziness).

Any ideas anyone?

With thanks for all your help & support
Janey

Tilt Test, etc.

Hi - a while ago I had the dizziness also. Had all kind of cardiac tests done. In the end it turned out to be Positional Vertigo. The doctor at the Ear Institute diagnosed me in less than one minute. If all tests were negative/normal you should see an Ear specialist. Good Luck to you.

Meds maybe?

this may not be it but what meds are you on? anything new?

i know about a year ago starting taking topamax for migrains and about 2 or 3 weeks in started having dizziness. till i finally passed out. Doc's check my heart and PM but it ended up being the meds.

Hi. Been on the 24 hour ECG monitor since lunchtime (UK) & had LOTS of episodes of dizziness, mainly on exertion. Hopefully it will all be on the tape if I'm having strange heart rhythms etc. The dizziness is lightheadedness & sometimes I feel really faint but haven't actually fainted.

I'm not on any heart drugs since my ablation 11 weeks ago, so the Dr's have ruled that option out as a cause.

I'll keep you posted....thanks for your replies so far.

Best wishes

I totally agree with JAE3....same thing happened to me and low and behold when I went through a battery of tests via an Ear Specialist, I have a mild form of Meniere's Disease - now I have part of the answer of why I have the same feelings you do.

There is an answer out there, please don't give up hope, as dizziness is one of the most difficult things to diagnose/finding out why it's happening.

My next step, if I were you, would be the Ear specialist for sure!!!!!!!

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
