I would check with your dr. Hot flashes are hormone related, nothing to do with your hr or having a pm. Are you on any new meds that could be causing it?

ahhh but tracey

our friend and new pacer is 50 beware the ides of menopause then.lol i was fortunate to have had the help of premarin for most of my menopause and then it was suddenly banned. i do not know the status of this now or if it has returned. i have heard from friends that healthcare stores carry a product that helps some . best to check with your family dr. hon. positively tho and just to make you feel better i have made the pacemaker chicks calendar and patch can vouch for that. lol we feel the humour helps so you are welcome to apply to be a pacer chick hot mommas that we are.all for now stay tuned for words from other pacer chicks. only rule strive to look and feel your very best every day. put a smile on and people will wonder what you are up to lol jessie

Funny that you brought up this subject. I have considered myself at 58 now lucky not to have experienced many hot flashes. My sister and one of my girlfriends has them all the time. I have noticed that since getting my pacemaker in February I have started to experience more episodes of hot flashes than before. I am going to ask my internist about that at my next visit. I am also curious to see if there is a relation between the hot flashes and the heart rate.

Try to stay cool. I got my sister a hand held fan which does help her. She was opening the freezer way too many times, lol

Same here...

I'm 58 and thought I was all over this, but the hot flashes are back and worse than ever. I had just assumed that they were related to the medications. I hadn't even bothered to ask the doctor. Let me know what your doctor says. I'm interested in knowing if there is a relation between the heart or the meds.

Age or meds

Hi, I'm new to the PM family. I just had an implant last week and am finding this web site very helpful. I seem to be having hot flashes at least twice a day, and I was wondering the same thing, whether it is related to the meds, but admittedly I did experience hot flashes off and on throughout the past year before the Doc said I needed the PM - they actually were much more frequent and more intense than the ones I'm having now. Looks like this will be one of my questions to ask the doc when he checks my implant next week.

Just found out last week after going to the obgyn the hot flashes are full blown menopause and Hypothyroidism which is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone. So now on meds for this.Did the yearly mammogram it was a piece of cake.Tracey E you know your stuff.thanx

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
