Hi, mine is a good report.

I have gone through all the beta-blockers to control A-fib over the last 10-12 years plus an external maze surgery. I have gotten to the point where my A-fib was reoccurring several times a week. Between my Cardiologist and EP we decided that an AV Node Ablation was my last resort for a decent chance to enjoy my remaining years without the fatigue and aggravation with my paroxysmal A-Fib. (I’m 74)

Since my EF is low (29%) it was determined that I should upgrade my PM to a CRT-P to help with the EF. Went in last Wednesday for the upgrade and when I woke up, I found out that the Dr. decided that I need the defibrillator function too. He told me that the PM Interrogation, while I was on the table, showed that I had some VT (I think VT is what he said) in addition to the A-fib. So, I am now the proud owner of a St. Jude CRT-D. Had the ablation the next day and it went well. I came home Friday and have felt great since. Haven’t had to have any pain meds since leaving the hospital. Both doctors want to see me for a follow up on June 30th, but I will schedule an interrogation with my EP sooner to see exactly what the CRT settings are. (Inquiring minds want to know LOL)
